Virtual Open House for Parents
Grade Level/Subject: Elementary (Grades 3-5) – All Subjects
Overview:
To help parents feel more connected to our classroom, I will host a Virtual Open House. Parents can join from home using Zoom or Google Meet to see what they are learning, classroom rules, and ways to help their child at home. If they can’t join live, they can watch a recording later.
Why This Is Important:
Parents want to help their children, but many are too busy to come to school. This online meeting makes it easy for them to stay involved. It also helps parents understand what their child is learning and ask any questions they have.
How It Will Work:
Technology Needed: Zoom or Google Meet.
Before the Meeting: I will create a slideshow with class rules, learning goals, and important dates.
Inviting Parents: I will send an email and a message on ClassDojo with a link and instructions.
Helping All Parents: If parents can’t attend live, they can watch a recording later. I will also send out answers to any common questions.
Possible Problems & Solutions:
Some parents don’t use technology much – I will send easy instructions.
Some parents speak different languages – I will provide translations.
